Life Before Spice

Emma grew up in Finchley, London and showed stage potential from toddler years. At the age of five she was enroled in a child modelling agency. Work flooded in for the adorable blonde little sweetie. She was constantly moving from photo shots and castings. She also became eager to learn to sing and dance, and was soon enroled in a local dance school. Some thought that her childhood was a little invaded by all the work, including her grandmother, who said she was always rushed everywhere for work and never had enough time to play with other kids. But to Emma it was all replaced by the fun of modelling.

All the travelling with her mum created a strong bond between them, which would become unbreakable. They were, and still are best friends. She attended the Sylvia Young Drama School in North London, where she was quite popular in her little group of friends, and also with the boys.

At sixteen, Emma left Sylvia Young to attend a two year drama course at Barnet Technical College. After this course she applied for many college places, but unfortunately she recieved no offers. Her future seemed uncertain until she got a call from her old singing teacher from Barnet, who was working with an all girl group and offered her a place, due to a band member leaving. She was accepted.
